Surekey — a cherished name given to me by my aunt — is more than just a word. It carries warmth, love, and a sense of belonging that I've always wanted to pour into everything I create. When it came time to name my ceramics studio, there was never really a question. The name had to be Surekey.
A Lifelong Dream Takes Shape
My love for pottery didn't arrive overnight. It grew slowly, the way clay responds to patient hands — gradually, with intention. The dream of transforming humble clay into functional art had lived in me for years before I finally sat down at the wheel and committed to making it real.
And real it was — in all its humbling, challenging, beautiful complexity.
The Learning Curve Is Real
Mastering pottery is not a straight path. There were countless pieces that collapsed, glazes that didn't fire the way I imagined, and mornings where I questioned whether I had what it takes. But those obstacles, as frustrating as they were, only deepened my dedication. Every failed bowl taught me something. Every cracked mug made the next one stronger.
That perseverance is baked into every piece that leaves my studio.
